From red to green

I was left on this mountain top After The wind blew so cold All the gold was faded and walls falling apart It only snowed and the sun never shined I gave it one more look And flew away to wander this land alone Again I was the one to fight no more My time was up and I couldn’t keep it up I finally realized I was the one that was being sacrificed The red fire that lived in me Burned to crimson ashes One day I found a girl that wasn’t on fire Had a gentle and sweet heart that did not burn She didn’t need me to fight a war No army or price that would have to pay Who saw right through me Brought me out of the sky And opened the chest To all the things life could bring to us I was the one to fight no more My time was up and I couldn’t keep it up I finally realized I was the one that was being sacrificed The red fire that lived in me Burned to crimson ashes that grew so cold The light was bringing me back to life We had our children and when I looked over my shoulder I could see those two colors flying over me The blue and violet wings searching for me When they came to confront me I stood my ground and showed my wings I showed them my red fire I brought it out for them to see But when I thought of her And everything she gave me that they had denied My crimson flames turned to an emerald And this new light the burned Was a green new fire I was now the one who was free And all the memories they wanted back Was not for them Or anything I would sacrifice no more I was gone from this world And free to go live my life With my family that I could love Endlessly
