Teenage Poetry

I wish they would've told me back in '99 that I'd be sick and tired by now Falling in and out of love so fast, but I still survived somehow You wrote "Forever" underneath my picture on the page of your yearbook And I wrote 100 lines that rhymed with you, but I could never find the hook What to think? (What to think?) What to feel? (What to feel?) Was it fake? (Was it fake?) Was it real? (Was it real?) Who really knows? Who really cares? Well that's a "No" from me Cause it's just teenage poetry We don't know what it means Cause it's just teenage poetry Forget everything you seen Cause it's just teenage poetry It's just teenage poetry I get all these flashbacks when I drive out past our old high school When we absolutely believed that Creed and Third Eye Blind was cool *CAN I GRADUATE?!?! Back when love meant a burned CD of shitty songs in horrible quality And you still know every word to every one, cuz we'd download them all for free How I think? (How I think?) How I feel? (How I feel?) Was it fake? (Was it fake?) Was it real? (Was it real?) I don't know So why should I care? It's not what we thought it'd be Cause it's just teenage poetry Still have my Jnco jeans? Just writing teenage poetry We don't know what it means Well that's just teenage poetry It's just teenage poetry Everything has already been said, but no one ever listens The fact that that this chapter in life was torn out and it's missin' Pages scattered all around with no one there to gather I could say that I'd go back... but it doesn't really matter It doesn't really matter... It's not what we thought it'd be Cause it's just teenage poetry Nothing like we dreamed It's all just teenage poetry We don't know what it means Well that's just teenage poetry It's just teenage poetry All the nights crying cause no one called All the nights crying over nothing at all Just trying to make it make sense Fastball might've showed us "The Way" Then we blamed it all on Y2K Don't look now but it all shuts down at midnight ... and it's midnight... *CAN I GRADUATE?!?!* But that's just teenage poetry...
