[Verse 1] There's a crowd in the hall and they're filling every seat Old friends shaking hands as they gather in the street Some from Dundee, some from Aberdeen Talking Scottish history and everything between [Verse 2] One brought old papers from a family chest Another brought questions he could never put to rest Nobody's arguing, everybody's getting on Learning something new while the night rolls along [Chorus] Saturday night at the Claim of Right Learning and dancing beneath the light Facts and friendship feeling just right Rocking to the music at the Claim of Right [Verse 3] Sara takes the microphone and says let's rock tonight Let's look at constitutions and Scotland's ancient rights There's laughter at the back, the music starts to play The crowd gonna rock the night away [Verse 4] When the dancing's over, nobody wants to leave The conversations carry on with energy and ease Ideas are flying round with music in the air And everybody's grooving without a care [Chorus] Saturday night at the Claim of Right Learning and dancing beneath the light Facts and friendship feeling just right Rocking to the music at the Claim of Right ©2026 Trevor Swistchew.
