[Intro – low drone, distant trumpet over battlefield] Accipientes galeam salutis (Ephesians 6:17) [Verse 1 – finger-picked, voice like steady resolve] The enemy strikes at the mind with despair With thoughts of defeat and of shame He whispers “You’re hopeless, you’ll never prevail” And kindles the doubt into flame But I take the helmet of salvation worn Forged in the promise of God The hope of the gospel, the certainty sure That Christ has already trod [Pre-chorus – monk choir, rising] Spes salutis nostra In Christo Iesu (Psalm 71:5) [Chorus – wide, defiant] GALEA SALUTIS The helmet of salvation guards my mind GALEA SALUTIS No lie of the devil can break through the line I am saved, I am kept, I am sealed till the end The victory certain, the promise won’t bend (1 Thessalonians 5:8) Galea salutis My head is lifted because I am His [Verse 2 – rain on helm, voice stronger] The serpent still hisses “Has God really said?” He aims for the thoughts of the night But the helmet reminds me the battle is won The darkness already lost light I am not fighting for victory now I fight from the victory given The hope that is anchored beyond the veil Is the helmet that keeps me driven [Chorus – heavier, marching drums] GALEA SALUTIS The helmet of salvation stands in the storm GALEA SALUTIS The mind is renewed and the heart is transformed If God is for us, who can condemn? No charge can be laid against His chosen men (Romans 8:33–34) Galea salutis My head is covered in Christ alone [Bridge – silence, then single voice] Take the helmet of salvation And the sword of the Spirit Stand therefore The day is already won [Final Chorus – soaring, cathedral roar] GALEA SALUTIS Let doubt and despair be cast down today GALEA SALUTIS The hope of the gospel will never decay We have confidence to enter the throne By the blood of the Lamb we are never alone (Hebrews 10:19–22) Galea salutis Forever secure in His own Amen. [Outro – soft wind fading, monk choir] Spes nostra firma est In Christo Iesu Amen.
