[Verse 1 – The Grand Beginning] They rode out bold with blades in hand, To save a maid from outlaw band. But halfway there, they found a brew— And drank until the sky turned blue. [Chorus] Oh Davy swings and Jasper sways, Their glory lost in drunken haze. They start with pride, they end with neighs— Two heroes sleeping in the hay. [Verse 2 – The Boar Incident] A boar ran wild through market square, They vowed to chase it then and there. But first, a toast! Then two, then ten— They woke up in its muddy pen. [Verse 3 – The Ghost Hunt] A haunted barn, a noble dare, They armed with flasks and reckless flair. The ghost was fake, the screams were real— They fled and tripped on cider peel. [Chorus] Oh Davy swings and Jasper sways, Their glory lost in drunken haze. They start with pride, they end with neighs— Two heroes sleeping in the hay. [Verse 4 – The Masquerade Duel] At masked ball, they caught a cheat, And challenged him in full retreat. But Jasper lunged, his mask askew— And Davy kissed the wrong man too. [Verse 5 – The River Rescue] A child fell in the river wide, They dove in with heroic pride. But Davy swam to chase a trout, While Jasper drank the rescue out. [Chorus] Oh Davy swings and Jasper sways, Their glory lost in drunken haze. They start with pride, they end with neighs— Two heroes sleeping in the hay. [Verse 6 – The Bakery Siege] They swore to guard the royal bread, From thieves who’d steal the baker’s head. But Davy ate the proof of crime, And Jasper passed out, drenched in thyme. [Verse 7 – The Pigsty Finale] They tried to duel a cheating lord, But spilled their drinks and dropped their sword. The tavern laughed, the pigs did too— They snored in straw till half past two. [Verse 8 – The Morning After] They wake with hay stuck in their hair, And noble boots beyond repair. They swear next time they’ll win the day— Then order ale and start to sway. [Final Chorus] Oh Davy swings and Jasper sways, Their glory lost in drunken haze. They start with pride, they end with neighs— Two heroes sleeping in the hay.
