Don't cry Stay asleep Cause if you don't Then the Sandman will get you He'll take you to his home Which lies on the moon He'll feed your eyes to his children Close your eyes, drift away, Leave the dark for another day, Let the Sandman keep his play, And you'll wake up safe and bright. Oh, now children listen close Everyone needs to listen For this tale I'm about to say is dark You see it begins a long time ago When the Old were still young They used to play outside But they had brothers and sisters But they disobeyed her parents and died! Close your eyes, drift away, Leave the dark for another day, Let the Sandman keep his play, And you'll wake up safe and bright. They stayed awake past midnight And the Sandman came He took her eyes and went to the moon You see that's why children You should go to sleep on time. So, heed the warnings, young ones dear, The Sandman's closer than you fear. Let dreams guide you through the night, And greet the morning's gentle light.
