Sons of the Wolf

Iron Skald
INTRO: Keep the intro VERY SHORT — maximum 5 to 8 seconds, NO long atmospheric opening, NO wind intro, NO wolf howl, NO slow Nordic chanting, NO cinematic build-up, Start almost immediately with electric guitar feedback, One short aggressive drum fill, Then launch directly into a HUGE, catchy distorted hard-rock guitar riff with full live drums and dirty bass, The opening riff must immediately grab attention and establish the song as a heavy ROCK track, After only a few bars of the main riff, bring in the first deep male lead vocal, Optional very short gang-vocal shout over the riff: “SONS OF THE WOLF!” Then immediately begin Verse 1, The listener should understand within the first five seconds: THIS IS THE ROCK SONG ON THE ALBUM, Sound: Huge crunchy rhythm guitars, Hard-hitting acoustic rock drums, Dirty driving electric bass, Short melodic lead-guitar accents, Raw live-band energy, The intro should feel direct, physical and energetic — like a band hitting the first chor

SONS OF THE WOLF [Intro – distant wolves, cold wind, low male chanting] [Male Choir – distant] Same blood… Same blood… [Deep Male Voice] We were born beneath the same sky. [Rough Male Voice] But no two wolves walk the same path. [Deep war drum] [Verse 1 – Deep Male Lead] We learned to walk on frozen ground With father’s stories all around The same old blood beneath our skin But different storms were born within One looked west across the sea One saw kingdoms yet to bleed One sought glory, one sought home And one was always meant to roam [Verse 1B – Rough Male Lead] We shared the fire, shared the bread Shared every word our father said But brothers grow and brothers change And blood alone can’t make us same Still when the winter horns are blown And ravens circle over stone Whatever road my feet have known I hear the call… And I come home [Pre-Chorus – alternating voices] [Deep Voice] Different roads [Rough Voice] The same old scars [Deep Voice] Different fires [Rough Voice] Under the same stars [Both] Whatever waits beyond the sun When the raven calls… WE HUNT AS ONE [Chorus – massive male warrior choir] SONS OF THE WOLF! BORN OF THE SAME BLOOD! Different roads beneath our feet But the same storm in our blood SONS OF THE WOLF! HEAR THE RAVEN CALL! Brother standing next to brother We will rise or we will fall [Choir] ONE BLOOD! ONE NAME! ONE FIRE! ONE FLAME! [Both Lead Voices] When the wolves go hunting… WE HUNT AS ONE! [Instrumental – heavy riff, war drums, Nordic strings] [Verse 2 – Rough Male Lead] I never wanted what you chose Your throne, your crown, your endless wars You speak of fate like fate commands But every man still moves his hands [Deep Male Lead] And you mistake my strength for pride Because you never saw inside I carry every brother lost Every victory has a cost [Rough Voice] Then why do you command my blade? [Deep Voice] Because of every oath we made [Rough Voice] An oath can break [Deep Voice] But blood remains [Both] Even when a brother changes [Pre-Chorus] Different roads The same old scars Different fires Under the same stars Whatever anger we become When the raven calls… WE HUNT AS ONE [Chorus – larger] SONS OF THE WOLF! BORN OF THE SAME BLOOD! Different roads beneath our feet But the same storm in our blood SONS OF THE WOLF! HEAR THE RAVEN CALL! Brother standing next to brother We will rise or we will fall [Choir] ONE BLOOD! ONE NAME! ONE FIRE! ONE FLAME! [Both] When the wolves go hunting… WE HUNT AS ONE! [Breakdown – guitars disappear, two tribal drums] [Deep Voice – spoken] You always thought you knew better. [Rough Voice] And you always thought you should lead. [Deep Voice] Someone had to. [Rough Voice] Did they? [Silence] [Argument Rap – two male voices trading lines] [Deep Voice] I carried the weight when the old man fell [Rough Voice] You carried a crown and you wore it well [Deep Voice] I held us together when vengeance came [Rough Voice] You held us together by using his name [Deep Voice] Watch how you speak when you speak of blood [Rough Voice] Blood ain’t a chain and a name ain’t enough [Deep Voice] Everything built has a price to defend [Rough Voice] Then tell me, my brother, where does it end? [Deep Voice] It ends when the debt of our father is paid [Rough Voice] How many more graves does a memory make? [Deep Voice] You’d turn from the fight? [Rough Voice] I’d choose my own war [Deep Voice] Then what are we brothers for? [Drums stop] [Silence] [Rough Voice – quieter] Do you remember when we were boys? [Deep Voice] Every day. [Rough Voice] Before the crowns. [Deep Voice] Before the graves. [Rough Voice] Before we became… this. [Long pause] [Deep Voice] You are still my brother. [Long silence] [Rough Voice] Then stand beside me. [Massive drum hit] [Build – both voices and choir] [Deep Voice] Same blood! [Choir] SAME BLOOD! [Rough Voice] Same name! [Choir] SAME NAME! [Deep Voice] Different roads! [Choir] ONE PACK! [Rough Voice] Until the end! [Choir] ONE PACK! [Both] WHEN THE RAVENS CALL— [Everything cuts] [Whisper] We hunt as one. [FINAL CHORUS – colossal] SONS OF THE WOLF! BORN OF THE SAME BLOOD! LET THE WHOLE NORTH HEAR US NOW LET THE IRON SPEAK FOR US SONS OF THE WOLF! HEAR THE RAVEN CALL! BROTHER STANDING NEXT TO BROTHER WE WILL RISE OR WE WILL FALL! [Choir] ONE BLOOD! ONE NAME! ONE FIRE! ONE FLAME! [Both Lead Voices] NO MATTER WHERE OUR ROADS MAY RUN— [Entire Choir] WE HUNT AS ONE! [Heavy instrumental – Nordic fiddle, huge guitars and drums] [Choir] WOLF! WOLF! WOLF! [Both Voices] We hunt as one! [Choir] WOLF! WOLF! WOLF! [Both Voices] Until it’s done! [Outro – distant drums] [Rough Voice] Do you think blood is enough? [Deep Voice] No. [Pause] But sometimes… it’s all we have. [Distant wolf howl]
