Officer Corruption Part 3

[Intro] (Sound of pages turning rapidly, a pen scribbling, and a distant gavel echoing in a hollow room) Yeah... welcome to Part 3. When the detective work gets lazy, they start creative writing. Targeting the vulnerable to build a house of cards... Only to watch it collapse under the courtroom lights. Let’s expose the blueprint. Look... [Verse 1] They don’t solve the crimes, they just choose a target, Find the easiest soul in the local market. Start with the assumption that you’re guilty as charged, While the real syndicates run free and enlarged. They don’t want to do the digging, don’t want to do the math, Just want a quick arrest to clear a lazy path. So they profile the poor, the broken, the weak, Stalking the trailer parks, listening to 'em speak. They treat a minor lead like a smoking gun, Prey on the defenseless till the damage is done. No real evidence, just a bias in their head, Following a ghost where the trail went dead. They’d rather frame a story than investigate the truth, Ruining lives from the elders to the youth. [Verse 2] Now let’s talk about the warrants and the way they get 'em signed: An ITO of fiction, completely designed. They need a quick search but they got no probable cause, So they look for a loophole to bypass the laws. They find an active addict sitting sick in a cell, Offer 'em a bypass from their personal hell. "Give us a name, write a statement on this pad, We’ll ignore your charges, forget what you had." Exploiting the sickness just to buy a cheap lie, Feeding the habit while the standards run dry. They take a coerced story from a desperate soul, Slap it on the warrant just to play their little role. Judges sign the paper based on fabricated lines, Built on the backs of forced confessions and fines. [Chorus] They build a house of cards but the foundation is dust, No truth in the warrant, no honor, no trust. They drag you to the cells based on fiction and greed, But the truth is a debt they can never succeed. Half the charges never stick when the judge takes a look, Just another dirty chapter in their broken book! [Verse 3] You get to the trial, now the circus begins, The Crown and the cops trying to cover their sins. They see the defense and they realize they’re stuck, The informant’s unreliable, they ran out of luck. But instead of withdrawing, they double down hard, Using shady court antics, trying to play their last card. If you stand tall and solid, if you refuse to break, They twist your integrity for the jury's own sake. "Look how quiet he keeps, look how cold he remains," Trying to turn your silence into heavy iron chains. They collude in the hallway, matching up their notes, Falsifying timelines to save their own throats. But the Charter’s got teeth, Section Eight starts to bite, When the lawyer exposes how they lied in the night. Case thrown out, another waste of our cash, While their credibility is reduced to ash. [Outro] (The beat drops out, leaving only the low, weeping cello and the steady, ticking hi-hat) Yeah... thrown out of court. Another "successful" raid turned into a dismissed case. You can lie on the ITO, you can squeeze the desperate, But when the light of the law actually shines on your work... It falls apart every single time. Lazy cops making lazy cases. We see you. (Sound of paper being ripped in half, followed by a final, heavy drum hit)
