Epilogue: A Song For The Nameless
And so, the ancient steel answered the summons. A nameless wanderer descended into the forsaken halls. He passed the tombs of fallen kings. He heard their warnings. He witnessed Grimbane born from hammer, fire and fate. Then he walked alone into the darkness. There, beneath the mountain, Vhalgor awakened. The Bane of Old spread his wings once more. Fire met steel. Scale met blade. And the halls trembled beneath their fury. When silence returned, both warrior and wyrm lay still. The beast was slain. The oath was fulfilled. The heart of the mountain was ours once more. Yet the one who reclaimed it bore no crest. No crown... No name that any living soul could speak. We laid him beneath the stone and placed Grimbane upon his tomb. The dead bowed before him. Their chains were broken. Their long vigil had finally ended. Now the gates stand open. The hammers ring again. And our children walk the halls their ancestors lost. But dust does not forget. And the Stone remembers everything. And sometimes, when the mountain lies silent, a single rune still burns upon the blade. Perhaps the oath has ended. Perhaps it only sleeps. So let this final tale be sung, not for kings, nor crowns, nor glory, But as a song for the nameless hero... And so the story ends ...
