Mall Crawl
Wandering 'round the mall, yeah, just another day Headphones on, trying to escape the gray Then my phone buzzes, a name pops on the screen It's you, and my heart starts to beat like a machine You shout, "Babe, I need some stuff, don't forget the list!" "Hair conditioner and some guitar strings, don't resist!" I'm standing by the fountain, feeling slightly stressed "Wait, what kind of conditioner? I'm pressed" Click! And you're gone, no answer, just the dial tone Now I'm stuck here in this mall, all alone My mission’s on, no time to waste, a race against the clock Why don't you ever answer when I try to talk? This is gonna end with a frown and a scowl Oh, this is gonna be a long, long Mall Crawl First, the guitar store, easy peasy, no big deal I grab the strings you used last time, that familiar feel I'm a hero, yeah, I'm winning, this is going great Then I hit the beauty aisle, oh, what a cruel twist of fate A hundred different bottles, all in shining rows For every type of hair, every length that grows I stare at them, my brain begins to fry What was the brand, what was the name, I wanna cry! Click! And you're gone, the phone's completely dead! I'm running out of time and losing my damn head! I've got your guitar strings, but this conditioner, oh man! I'll probably just pick one and stick to the damn plan! This is gonna end with a fight and a whole new frown My Mall Crawl's the most tragic story in this town! After what feels like a year, I pick one off the shelf It's a complete guess, I'm trusting my inner self It’s got a picture of a coconut and says "for shine" What could possibly go wrong with a choice like mine? So I’m headed for the exit, with a plan, a final plea Gonna stop and get some cake from the bakery A little sugary bribe to fix the mess I've made Hope you like your conditioner, I'm really, really, really afraid! Yeah, I'm really, really, really afraid...
