Christmas Eve In Our Living Room

[Verse 1] Crumpled wrapping paper mountains Cousin sleeping on the floor Grandma’s telling the same old story We’ve all heard it twenty times or more Ugly sweaters in the photos Cookie crumbs on every plate Someone burned the second batch But they still kinda taste great (mm-hmm) [Chorus] Christmas Eve in our living room Twinkle lights and a crowded couch Every laugh a little out of tune But I wouldn’t trade this loud All the chaos All the love All the names we tease and shout Christmas Eve in our living room Is what it’s all about (oh yeah) [Verse 2] Dad’s pretending he’s a DJ Playing songs from way back when Kids are staging one more dance show Starting Stopping Starting again Mom’s asleep before the movie With a candy cane in her hand And we all talk over the ending Like it’s perfectly planned [Chorus] Christmas Eve in our living room Twinkle lights and a crowded couch Every laugh a little out of tune But I wouldn’t trade this loud All the chaos All the love All the names we tease and shout Christmas Eve in our living room Is what it’s all about [Bridge] Someday we’ll be older Maybe in a different place But I’ll still hear this same big chorus When I close my eyes and taste Hot cocoa on my tongue Warm hands passing plates around Every year I find my way Right back to this sound (hey!) [Chorus] Christmas Eve in our living room Twinkle lights and a crowded couch Every laugh a little out of tune But I wouldn’t trade this loud All the chaos All the love All the names we tease and shout Christmas Eve in our living room Is what it’s all about Christmas Eve in our living room Is what it’s all about (one more time)
