PASTOR A pastor's called to live above reproach, One wife by his side, yeah, that’s the approach. Temperate, self-controlled, gotta be respectable, Hospitable, teaching truth—never neglectable. Not drowning in the drink, not quick to fight, But gentle, steady-handed, keeping God in sight. Not a lover of cash or a recent convert, Hold firm to the Word, let the doctrine insert. Encourage the flock, refute the lies, Lead the charge with faith, keep your eyes on the prize. WHAT WE OWE TO OUR PASTORS AND TEACHERS Listen up, if you’re taught in the Word, take a sec, Share the good with your teacher, give respect. The Lord said, "Yo, preachers deserve their pay," Elders work hard, double honor’s their way. Obey your leaders, they watch your soul, They’re accountable to God—that’s their role. Make their job a joy, not a burden to bear, ‘Cause dragging them down leaves you stuck in despair. GOVERNMENT Every soul submits to the powers that reign, Authority’s from God, yeah, that’s the chain. Rebel against that, you’re rebelling against Him, Judgment’s comin’ quick for the one who sins. Government's a servant, wielding wrath for the wrong, But it’s meant to do you good, keep society strong. Don’t test the sword, it’s a lesson to learn, Stay aligned with the law, let the Spirit confirm. HUSBANDS Husbands, listen, treat your wives with care, Respect the weaker vessel, love’s the bond you share. They’re heirs to the grace, the gift of life, So keep your prayers unhindered—cherish your wife. Love her like Christ, lay yourself down, Don’t be harsh, wear patience like a crown. WIVES Wives, submit like Sarah did back in the day, Follow your husband, let fear drift away. You’re daughters of faith if you do what’s right, Stand strong in the Lord, walk in His light. PARENTS Fathers, don’t provoke, don’t crush your kid, Train them in the Word, let ‘em know what God did. Don’t embitter their hearts, don’t tear them apart, Lift them up in love, let the Gospel impart. CHILDREN Kids, obey your parents, it’s the way of the Lord, Honor them well—it’s a promise restored. “Long life on the earth,” that’s what it’ll bring, Respect your mom and dad, let the blessings sing.
