Peaceful

We can live in a world disturbed by an oligarch, who tries to break democracy and become a monarch. We can live in a world where mental health is troubled, by a minority of individuals who threaten to control everything and to break it all apart. It is natural, in such a case, to feel intimidated and even sometimes unsettled. It is natural to feel, at times, the urge to withdraw and to step away. But one must preserve a sense of inner balance, learn to calm oneself, to find reassurance and renewal through contact with nature, through spirituality, through relations with others imbued with civility. Then, gently, inner peace can return, and the recovery of control over what seems to slip away can slowly redeploy. For the center within cannot capsize if one remains aware of its innate presence, from our birth to the final moment of our destined path. Peace regained, balance restored, stability recovered, the rediscovery of joys and felicity: this inner landscape cannot disintegrate, for it has been built over the passing years. To frequent nature and be surrounded by it, to descend within oneself in complete tranquility, to love art, science, to analyze the present world, to keep precious ties with beloved ones, to witness one’s resilience and adaptability, always ready to spread the joy of loving, of sharing, of understanding and esteeming, of standing for and protecting those weaker than oneself, those who live in fragility. To volunteer, to discover the joy of giving oneself, in order to keep supporting society, to be a white stone, gentle and proud of existing, at the bottom of the torrent, as the wave passes into the stream of years, an assumed response to life’s call before life itself. A simple white stone, polished by spring waters, of a peace regained. “I am the voice of the water, of the iridescent bubble of the universe,” and I watch myself journey through the torrent of life, through the voice of the beyond: “iridescent bubble of infinity.”
