bouncing through the clouds

Up in the sky where the wild winds play A red balloon took my dreams away Chasing the stars through the darkened haze Running barefoot through the moonlit maze . I grabbed a net but it slipped my grip The string danced free like a sailor’s ship I yelled to the moon “Hey give it back!” But it winked and vanished into the black . Oh oh chasing balloons in the midnight air Lost my heart in the sky somewhere I’ll climb the clouds I’ll swing on Mars Catch my dreams in a jar of stars . A comet laughed as it zipped on by Said “Good luck kid but they’re hard to tie” I grabbed a ladder from the Milky Way But the balloon just laughed and flew away . Hey gravity you’re no help tonight Just me and my shadow in this wild flight I’ll lasso the wind if it takes all year Till that balloon is right back here .
