[Spoken Word - Intro] Ah, there you are. Come here, closer. Sit by the fire, and let the storyteller endear you with another titillating tale. Jack could be nimble, Jack could be quick, but this Jack was not the one over the candlestick. His head rolled off his shoulders and onto the floor, down the lane, through the door. Out in the field, Jack-O'-Lantern head haunts for the body and soul that he truly wants. [Verse 1 - still half-spoken, beat comes in] He wakes every October when the corn turns brown, A hollow grin rolling through the town. No neck to hold him, no spine to bend, Just a candle lit search that will never end. [Chorus - Sung, haunting] Oh, Jack is lookin' for a body, A body to call his own. He's got a smile carved in sorrow, But no bones to carry him home. He wants your shoulders, he wants your skin, He's knockin' soft... let him in? [Verse 2] He found the scarecrow and tried it on for size, But the straw man wept with button eyes. He tried the farmer, asleep in the hay, But the body was cold, and it would not stay. [Bridge - Whispered, tension build] And if you hear him thumpin' down your hall, Don't answer... don't answer at all. 'Cause a head with no body learns how to borrow, And you might wake up hollow tomorrow. [Chorus - Bigger, harmonies] Oh, Jack is lookin' for a body, A body to call his own. He's got a smile carved in sorrow, But no bones to carry him home. He wants your shoulders, he wants your skin, He's right outside... let him in? [Outro - Spoken Word, back to the fire] So if you feel a draft against your feet... That's just Jack, still looking down your street. Head rollin', rollin', rollin' alone. Still searchin' for a body... ...still searchin' for a home.
