Invisible Monsters - Nothing of me is original
Nothing of me Is original. A stitched-together Miracle. Lipstick, ligatures, A borrowed face— beauty as camouflage, fame as a wound. To be ugly is To be invisible. No clean erase. No surgical peace. If you don’t know what you want, you end up with a lot you don’t. If you don’t know what you want, you end up with a lot you don’t. Mirror, magazine, mash-up of lies; the body learns how to disguise. Every scar has its own syntax. Every pose says: look—don’t look back. Nothing of me Is original. A vanishing act in full detail. [snare roll] If I disappear, let it be known: I made my face out of my own. If you don’t know what you want, you end up with a lot you don’t. If you don’t know what you want, you end up with a lot you don’t. To be ugly is to be seen.
