I recommend listening with headphones! 🎧 If something in this song touched you - please, comment! I want to introduce you to a new subgenre of house music: 😄Chukchi house😄 Tongue-twisters have traditionally posed an articulatory challenge — using rapid, dense, and sonically similar sequences that demand high precision in diction and control. After creating four tongue-twister-based songs in May, I wanted to revisit this challenge from a different angle — one that is more experimental and focused on sound itself. This track features: * Throat, nasal, glottal, and click sounds; * Complex articulatory sequences; * Repetitions that build rhythm, trance, and acoustic depth. The performance requires impressive vocal technique: throat singing, breath control, and precise phonation — a technically complex vocal act, often found in archaic sound cultures of Siberia and the Far North. 🎧 What lies beneath the voice — overtone landscapes and throat-born depths At the beginning of the song, you’ll sense a low, almost physical vibration — not just bass, but drone: a sustained low tone found in many ancient musical traditions to induce meditative or ritual states. Over this drone, throat-like vocals emerge, carrying shimmering overtones — those mysterious, whistling, bell-like frequencies that seem to come not from a voice, but from the tundra itself. This effect is achieved through overtone singing — a technique where a single performer produces both a fundamental and upper harmonic tones, creating the illusion of multiple voices. In the song, this is simulated using elements inspired by Chukchi, Tuvan, and shamanic styles, supported by instruments like the Jew’s harp and overtone flute — both rich in natural harmonic resonance. Layers of fragmented syllables and nasalized effects deepen the feeling of spiritual presence, evoking ancient rituals under the northern lights — where sound is not just heard, but experienced. 🎶 If it feels like “you’re hearing more than one voice” — you’re not mistaken.
