Verse 1 I tried to hold it all together on my own, thought if I stayed strong I could carry every load, kept my hands tight closed, didn’t wanna let go, like if I loosened up then I’d lose what I know. I built plans in my mind, mapped it all out, tried to solve every problem before it played out, but the more that I gripped, the more I found I was wearin’ myself down. I couldn’t keep up with the pressure I made, tryin’ to be everything, tryin’ to pave a way I could walk without fear or delay, but I was runnin’ in circles, stuck in the same place. And I didn’t wanna admit I was tired, didn’t wanna face that I couldn’t climb higher, didn’t wanna say I was feelin’ the fire burnin’ inside from the weight I was carryin’. But You met me right there in the middle of that, not with judgment, not tellin’ me “fix where you at,” just a quiet kind of truth I couldn’t ignore, sayin’, “you don’t gotta do this anymore.” That hit different, I had to sit with it, had to face how I built everything on my strength, had to see I was fightin’ a war I can’t win without leanin’ on You. So I stopped for a second, I took a deep breath, I laid it all down, every worry, every step, every plan I was holdin’, every thought I kept, and I realized then I don’t need to control this. Hook I give You all of me, I don’t hold it back, I don’t carry the weight, I don’t live like that, I release every part I was tryin’ to grasp, and I trust in Your hands—I’m done holdin’ that. Through God the Father, I rest in Your will, through Jesus my Savior, my heart is made still, through the Spirit that leads, I don’t fight what I feel, all of me, none of control—I finally yield. Verse 2 It ain’t easy to drop what you built in your mind, when you feel like your safety is tied to that line, when you think if you let it go one more time, everything might fall out of place. But I learned it don’t work how I thought it did, I don’t find peace by holdin’ it in, I don’t gain control by resistin’ Your will, I just stay in the stress I created myself. So I had to unlearn what I thought was strength, had to see it ain’t power to hold everything, it’s trust when you let go and lean on the One who already knows what you need. That’s where it shifted, that’s where it changed, not in me finally gettin’ it arranged, but in me steppin’ back and sayin’, “You take it, God—I can’t maintain this.” Through Jesus Christ, I don’t carry that guilt, I don’t gotta prove that I’m worthy or built to handle it all—I’ve already been filled with a grace I didn’t create. That means I can let go without fear of loss, that means I can rest in the work of the cross, that means I don’t gotta count every cost, I just trust what’s already been done. Through the Spirit I’m led when I wanna go back, when I feel that urge just to tighten my grasp, He reminds me again I don’t live like that, I don’t have to go back to control. And God the Father, You steady my path, You don’t need me to manage what’s out of my hands, You just ask me to trust where You stand, and walk with You, not ahead of You.
