MARY-ENG-CELTIC-02B Winter Star above the Moor

[Intro] the winter star above the moor would not go out it watched the heather darken under snow [Verse 1] I walked where no warm window called my name where every thorn was silver with the same old patient frost, old patient sky and still your face would not say goodbye [Pre-Chorus] If love is fire under stone let it burn unseen, alone [Chorus] Winter star, hold your light over me when the road has forgotten the spring there is a voice in the cold wild country and it knows what the heart cannot sing [Instrumental Interlude] [Verse 2] The moor was wide as an unanswered prayer the wind moved slowly through my hair I had no shelter, I had no art only your absence warming my heart [Bridge] Low in the dark, clear in the snow some hidden embers glow [Final Chorus] Winter star, hold your light over me when the road has forgotten the spring there is a voice in the cold wild country and it knows what the heart cannot sing [Outro] the winter star above the moor would not go out
