Creepy Man

Saw him by the corner store Same gray coat Same old shoes Eyes like he forgot his name Walks past my window every night Street’s half-empty Air feels tight He never looks But I feel seen Creepy man who wanders around Dragging his shadow all over this town Every slow step writes your name on the ground Creepy man who wanders around He stops beneath the busted sign Checks his watch No one’s there Mouths a word that I can’t hear I close the curtain Count to ten Peel it back He’s turned his head Now he’s staring straight upstairs Mama says it’s just some guy But the way he stands in the pouring rain Like he’s waiting there for me Creepy man who wanders around Dragging his shadow all over this town Every slow step writes your name on the ground Creepy man who wanders around Creepy man who wanders around Dragging his shadow all over this town Every slow step writes your name on the ground Creepy man Creepy man Creepy man
