[Verse] I don't know what I'm doing with my life I'm just young and dumb and angry all the time Gimme a little gimme a little sympathy I got a case of angst I got a case of angst That's passed down through the family tree [Prechorus] And you wonder why [Chorus] The youth of America are so angry You left the country in shambles And put your kids through Hell The youth of America are so angry Did you forget that you were young once too? Now this world is ours to inherit from you [Verse 2] You always told me to try my very best But then you turned around and raised me for the test And the results came back positive for angsty It's not my fault I was born this way I'm just here to tell you what I gotta say [Chorus] The youth of America are so angry You left the country in shambles And put your kids through Hell The youth of America are so angry Did you forget that you were young once too? Now this world is ours to inherit from you [Bridge] I won't hold my breath For a world that's left for dead When all that's left is said The youth of America are so angry [Verse 3] Looking around at what's left behind The ruins of dreams and the ties that bind Gimme a reason gimme a purpose to fight Amidst the chaos, in this endless night I'm searching for hope in this tangled mess of fate [Chorus] The youth of America are so angry We've been handed these broken promises And told to make them whole The youth of America are so angry Did you forget how it feels to be us now? We're left alone to fix the scars you disavow [Chorus] The youth of America are so angry You left the country in shambles And put your kids through Hell The youth of America are so angry Did you forget that you were young once too? Now this world is ours to inherit from you
