Hello everyone. Our journey continues westward as we leave the colorful streets of Cayenne behind. To reach Paramaribo, we headed to the border town of Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. Crossing the massive Maroni River by ferry felt like entering a different world. On the other side, in Albina, the red dirt roads of Suriname welcomed us with a new rhythm. This track, 'Golden River', is about that transition... the dense jungle lining the highway and the sudden appearance of the white wooden houses that make Paramaribo so unique. It’s a story of hospitality, from meeting gold seekers by the riverside to sharing music in a private home under the tropical stars. Let the steady beat and the chime of the acoustic guitar take you across the river into the heart of the Suriname spirit. ******************************************* © 2026 ᒍᑌᒪIᗩᑎ KᗩIᑎE. I see the tall palm trees under sun. The journey of my life has just begun. At Fort Zeelandia the ancient walls remain tall. I hear the water and the jungle call. (Chorus) Singing loud for every new friend. Visions that will never ever end. Music brings us all quite close now. Taking a deep and very humble bow. (Verse 2) The market square is filled with heavy gold. A story of the land is being told. I walk toward the mosque and the shrine. I feel the air and think it fine. The big cathedral reaches for the bright blue. Everything I see is very strange and new. (Chorus) Singing loud for every new friend. Visions that will never ever end. Music brings us all quite close now. Taking a deep and very humble bow. (Verse 3) The Waterkant is where the people all meet. I find a bench and take a seat. I watch the boats across the wide wave. This is the peace that I always crave. The sun goes down behind the forest green. The most beautiful sight I have ever seen. (Chorus) Singing loud for every new friend. Visions that will never ever end. Music brings us all quite close now. Taking a deep and very humble bow. (Verse 4) Three gold seekers show me the way home. Across the sandy earth we slowly all roam. I stay in a room within their house. I am as quiet as a small mouse. I sing my songs for the happy crowd. My old hat collects coins while I'm proud. (Chorus) Singing loud for every new friend. Visions that will never ever end. Music brings us all quite close now. Taking a deep and very humble bow.
