This song is about the first, painful lesson in social survival. After the innocent questioning of 'Born of Reef and Doubt,' the soul learns that to exist, it must conform. I used the metaphor of an electrical adapter—a being forged not to hold power, but to translate and convey it for others. It's a life of function, not of being. The funk-rock energy is deliberately kinetic and forceful, masking the profound exhaustion in the lyrics.
