Change of Plans

Had the whole night figured out Knew exactly where I'd be Then something shifted in the air And changed the scenery Put the schedule in my pocket Let the evening take the wheel Funny how a change of plans Can show you something real "Show you something real." I could go The way I said Or follow this Instead "Follow this!" Change of plans Change of plans Wasn't where I meant to be But look at where I am Change of plans Change of plans Sometimes the night knows better Than the map inside your hands "No map needed." Missed the turn I meant to take Found another road instead (Another road...) Stayed a little longer Changed my mind about the rest No announcement No big reason Nothing I need to explain Sometimes all it takes Is a little change "Just a little change." I could go The way I said Or follow this Instead "Switch it up!" Change of plans Change of plans Wasn't where I meant to be But look at where I am Change of plans Change of plans Sometimes the night knows better Than the map inside your hands Cancel that Move this back Leave a little room For what you didn't plan Cancel that Change the route Funny what can happen When you don't figure it out "Let the beat take over... drop it." Change of plans (Change of plans) Wasn't where I meant to be But look at where I am Change of plans (Change of plans) Sometimes the night knows better Than the map inside your hands "The night knows better!" Change of plans... That's all it was Change of plans... "Just a change of plans."
