Very moving. Years ago a friend - well, he was actually my patrol leader in the scouts when I was his seconder - took a factory job aged about 20, and sadly met his maker by a reversing lorry.
This reminds me when I worked before as an IT tech support on an engineering factory, hearing someone losing their life by a heavy machinery was common before a proper OSHA introduced, significantly reduces the accidents. Powerful deliverance indeed.

A beautiful homage to your father...lost mine when I was 3 to a drunk driver...I too can't remember his face.

While it is sad it's also a warning to people that work with heavy equipment

Very good writing, literally makes me want to call my Dad and let him know I love him while he's still around!
