[Intro — acoustic guitar, light drum pickup] [Verse 1] Sun's going down on another long week Dust on my boots and a song in my head Got a little time and a little gas And a whole lotta nowhere that I gotta be at There's a neon glow coming through the door Hear that old guitar from across the floor Ain't looking for trouble, ain't looking for gold Just looking for somebody who likes moving slow [Pre-Chorus] Leave that workday behind Let the weekend change your mind [Chorus] It's Friday night, so turn it up Fill that floor and raise your cup Two-step left, then turn around Let that old guitar shake the ground Don't need much, just a little bit of time A good song playing and somebody by your side Tomorrow can wait till the morning light We're gonna make a memory tonight [Verse 2] Blue jeans, boots and a worn-out shirt Everybody's got a little bit of dirt Some came alone, some came with friends Some said they'd leave early but they're staying till the end The band's got that rhythm rolling through And every other step brings me back to you You caught my eye from across the room Now there's an empty spot waiting next to you [Pre-Chorus] Forget that clock on the wall Tonight we ain't watching it at all [Chorus] It's Friday night, so turn it up Fill that floor and raise your cup Two-step left, then turn around Let that old guitar shake the ground Don't need much, just a little bit of time A good song playing and somebody by your side Tomorrow can wait till the morning light We're gonna make a memory tonight [Instrumental Break — electric guitar and pedal steel] [Bridge] Maybe we're laughing, maybe we're dancing Maybe this night wasn't part of the plan Sometimes the best roads don't have a destination You just take somebody's hand And let the music lead [Drum pickup] [Final Chorus] It's Friday night, so turn it up Fill that floor and raise your cup Two-step left, then turn around Let that old guitar shake the ground Don't need much, just a little bit of time A good song playing and somebody by your side Tomorrow can wait till the morning light We're gonna make a memory tonight [Outro] Yeah, tomorrow can wait till the morning light Tonight we're just living that Friday night life [Acoustic guitar rings out]
