Then suddenly just a shadow creeps along… Two more follow him. When just a shadow stops before the jail… The other two come crashing in. One evil stare, Two slipped sunglasses, But only ONE goal… To set the butterflies free! [Verse 1] Just a Merchant has a plan, he asks the locals what he can. An old man points across the square, Those little pests caused havoc there. But the BROs have got a scheme, They put on quite a little scene. BRO-Orleans Jazz begins to play, The whole damn market swings away. [Pre-Chorus 1] A quiet facepalm, not a word, Just a Merchant goes unheard. [Chorus 1] Two butterflies - without a care, Sit there innocent in prison air. Just a Merchant, completely thrown, wishing he had come alone. Without a clue, what can he do, To get those little flutters through. He had to save them from the strife, and never mind the messy life. [Instrumental] [Spoken Bridge] RSS Butterfly to Just a Merchant… You’ve made quite a lovely mess… It was all shown in the news. They just keep causing trouble! Same as usual… Painted walls and a ton of sweets. Where do they get all that from?… Get them out of there at once! And please… Be discreet this time! RSS Butterfly out. [Verse 2] Just a Priest raises his hand, Those little moths are sweet and grand. He speaks of mercy, heart and grace, And says no harm should touch their face. But the BROs address the crowd, Bold! - Relevant! - Original! And loud. They praise themselves the whole night through, The whole church cheers their shining view. [Pre-Chorus 2] A quiet facepalm, not a word, Just a Priest will leave unheard. [Chorus 2] Two butterflies - without a care, Sit there innocent in prison air. Just a Priest, completely thrown, wishing he had come alone. Without influence, what can he do, To get those little flutters through. He had to save them from the strife, and never mind the messy life. [Instrumental] [Spoken Bridge] Just a Lawyer to RSS Butterfly… They have returned the Captain’s stuff. All the sweets, however, are gone. Only one single jellybean remains… It is STILL HERE! Sadly, we have failed… to free the two of them in secret. So now we have to represent them in court. But trust me… I already have an idea. Just a Lawyer out. [Final Verse] Just a lawyer walks right in, playing piano with great spin. He sings of freedom, sad and plain, of little wings that bear such pain. But the BROs begin to cry, for heavens sake they wail and sigh. Soon the courtroom drowns in tears, The judge was not so moved in years. [Final Pre-Chorus] A quiet facepalm, not a word, Just a Lawyer goes unheard. [Final Chorus] Two butterflies - without a care, Sit there innocent in prison air. Just a Lawyer, completely thrown, wishing he had come alone. Without a judge, what can he do, To get those little flutters through. He had to save them from the strife, and never mind the messy life. [Spoken Outro] Just a Specialist to Earth… The butterflies are back again. But uh… It seems I wasn’t needed after all. They simply escaped on their own. Right through the prison bars… But uh… They brought along a rather strange guest. Just a Specialist out. <----- Styles -----> 1920s Dark Chanson Noir fused with Cinematic Art Jazz and sophisticated Swing, infused with virtuosic Grand Piano Cabaret and vintage theatrical comedy. Authentic late-1920s/early-1930s atmosphere, acoustic instrumentation only: upright bass, brushed jazz drums, muted trumpet, smoky tenor saxophone, clarinet, violin, cello, banjo, subtle accordion, and an expressive concert grand piano. Dark minor-key chanson harmonies, elegant chromaticism, mysterious detective-film tension, smoky cabaret intimacy, theatrical pauses and dramatic crescendos. Swing feel sophisticated and slightly crooked. Piano passages may become flamboyantly virtuosic, mischievous and melodramatic, using rapid arpeggios, witty ornamental runs and exaggerated romantic gestures. Comedy comes from dead-serious musical treatment of ridiculous events. Warm vintage recording character, intimate room ambience, dynamic orchestration, cinematic storytelling, playful rhythmic surprises, increasingly emotional finale. <----- Meta-Tags -----> [Spoken Intro - dark 1920s film noir, slow, mysterious grand piano, upright bass, brushed drums, muted trumpet, smoky cinematic tension, dramatic pauses] [Verse 1 - elegant dark chanson swing, walking upright bass, brushed drums, clarinet, muted trumpet, playful grand piano accents, sophisticated 1920s cabaret] [Pre-Chorus 1 - sparse piano and bass, deadpan cabaret delivery, comic pauses] [Chorus 1 - grand cinematic swing, minor-key chanson, fuller strings and brass, energetic walking bass, theatrical cabaret piano flourishes] [Instrumental - lively 1920s Dixieland, clarinet, muted trumpet, virtuosic stride piano, walking bass, playful rhythmic breaks] [Spoken Bridge - vintage radio static, dry professional voice, sparse ominous piano, deadpan delivery] [Verse 2 - darker sacred art jazz, stately tempo, cello, violin, piano, restrained swing, old European church atmosphere] [Pre-Chorus 2 - solemn piano chords, restrained arrangement, deadpan theatrical resignation] [Chorus 2 - grand cinematic swing, dark chanson harmony, sweeping strings, warm brass, dramatic piano, theatrical 1920s cabaret] [Instrumental - virtuosic grand piano cabaret, dramatic minor chords turning playful, stride piano, clarinet ornaments, sudden pauses and comic flourishes] [Spoken Bridge - vintage radio static, conspiratorial noir voice, sparse piano, dramatic pause before the Dschellibien reveal] [Final Verse - heartbreaking 1920s chanson ballad, slow rubato grand piano, solo cello and violin, deeply sincere, increasingly melodramatic] [Final Pre-Chorus - exposed grand piano, trembling cello, huge emotional pause, quiet deadpan vocal] [Final Chorus - sweeping romantic noir swing, cinematic strings, warm brass, passionate grand piano, beautiful, absurdly sentimental] [Spoken Outro - vintage radio static, return to dry 1920s detective noir, sparse piano, upright bass, exhausted deadpan delivery, mysterious final sting]
