If only you knew… Tower block views… Pain in the concrete… Life on fast-forward… Cold nights, no lights, belly rumblin’ again, Mandem runnin’ from the bailiffs and the council men. Mum stressed, rent due, red letters through the slit, Life hittin’ like a Judge when you never plead "quit". I was raised in the flats where the hallways echo, Sirens sing lullabies, kids learn to stay low. Dreams in the stairwell, smoke in the lift, Hope in the gutter but we still make shift. “The struggle is real, mandem grafting just to make ends meet,” That's a poem carved in blood on every inner-city street. Pain in the marrow, sorrow in the beat, Still we step like kings when we got nothin’ on our feet. If the walls could talk, they'd spill too much truth, Every brick knows the weight of a stolen youth. Still I’m runnin' on fumes but I never stay weak, Pain turned me to a soldier when my future looked bleak. If only you could see what it is to be me, You’d feel the burn of the struggle that they’ll never believe. If only you knew how deep these nights bleed, I’m tryna break free but the blocks still breed. If only you knew… (yeah) If only you knew… (real life) If only you knew how the pain runs through, But I rise from the ruins like I always do. Look— Roads raised a warrior, estate built a king, Had to fight for every morsel that the rich take in. Blocks taught hunger, alleys taught sin, But I learnt to flip the struggle to a weapon within. Neighbours knockin' doors for a bit of loose change, Youth clubs shut, madness start to rearrange. Kids play tag with trauma they can’t explain, And the system only clocks when it’s far too late. Whole life been a lesson in survival mode, Even hope gets evicted when the rent’s too low bro. Still we shine in the shadows where the brave don’t go, Turn pain into rhythm, let the whole streets know. When you start from the bottom of the bottom of the pit, You learn to build wings out of every hardship. No silver spoon, just a blacked-out strip, Where the dreams run thin but the will never quits. If only you could see what it is to be me, You’d feel storms in your spirit every minute I breathe. If only you knew what it costs to stay free, How we stand on the edge but refuse to concede. If only you knew… If only you knew… If only you knew how the truth cuts through, But I turn that pain into something brand new. Hardship, heartbreak, tower block heartbeat, Cold floors, dark nights, bare souls on the concrete. Life don’t pause when you're losin’ your feet, bruv, But the mandem still rise 'cause we never know defeat. If only you knew the story etched in my skin, If only you saw the wars that I fought within. From the gutter to the skyline, born from the grit— This is pain turned to pride, and I’m standin’ with it. If only you knew, bruv, If only you knew...
