I Serve

I learned the language of warm hands, of fever easing, breath made slow, of staying when the night gets long and no one wants to be alone. The light I carry does not burn, it settles, steady, clear and bright, a quiet force that says: remain, and means it through the longest night. Life is not loud when it returns, it hums, it holds, it stays. It gathers what was scattered thin and gently pulls it back in place. I serve the force that knits and mends, that fills the lungs with air again. The pulse that rises, soft but sure, the strength to stand, the will to bend. Where death would hollow, I restore. Where pain would claim, I intercede. I keep the light where life is kept and guard it while it heals and breathes. I have driven shadows from the sick, watched color find a face once gray. I’ve named the wounds the dark prefers and sent it turning clean away. The dead recoil from what I bear, not fear, but truth they cannot stand: that life persists by being shared, not taken, hoarded, or demanded. The gods I follow do not shout. They answer when you call. Their strength is felt in waking eyes, in getting up after the fall. I serve the force that knits and mends, that fills the lungs with air again. The pulse that rises, soft but sure, the strength to stand, the will to bend. Where death would hollow, I restore. Where pain would claim, I intercede. I keep the light where life is kept and guard it while it heals and breathes. To heal is not to erase the scar. It is to say: you’re still here. To tend the body, lift the mind, and make the future feel near. Undeath withers where life is whole. It cannot stand what freely flows. I walk with those the world forgets and bring the strength that caring grows. I was not shaped to judge the end or weigh what life is worth to save. I answer need with open hands and leave no soul alone with pain. I serve the force that steadies hands, that quiets fear, that understands. The warmth that moves from soul to soul, the grace of help freely given. I do not chase the dying spark, I shelter it until it grows. I am the place where mercy works and living finds its way back home. I serve the vibrant turning force that feeds the root, that clears the vein. The blessing spoken through my hands, the answer whispered in your pain. If breath remains, if hope is thin, if all you need is time and care… Then stay. Be well. You are not alone. Life is still working here.
