Waiting on a Man

[Verse 1] The clock keeps ticking on the wall I’m staring at the empty hall His boots should echo on the floor But I’m still waiting by the door [Chorus] Waiting on a man who’s never on time His promises sweeter than cherry wine He’s out chasing dreams while I stand still Waiting on a man I always will [Verse 2] The kettle’s cold The coffee’s stale I check my phone No new detail The sun sets slow The moon takes flight And I’m still here beneath the night [Chorus] Waiting on a man who’s never on time His promises sweeter than cherry wine He’s out chasing dreams while I stand still Waiting on a man I always will [Bridge] Maybe it’s hope or maybe it’s pride That keeps me waiting with arms open wide But every second feels like a year Still I’m holding on to what’s not here [Chorus] Waiting on a man who’s never on time His promises sweeter than cherry wine He’s out chasing dreams while I stand still Waiting on a man I always will
