Nordic Discord Challenge - Throwback Thursdays Genre: Stoner Rock Theme: Bugs Lyrics: There’s a rustle in the mattress when the lights go out Tiny shadows in the stitching start to move around You think you’re safe beneath the blanket, but they know your heat They’re crawling up the headboard just to taste you while you dream They hide inside the corners where the daylight fails In the cracks behind the pictures and the splinters in the rails They wait until your breathing hits that slow, soft beat Then they march across your body like a quiet army You never hear them coming You never feel them creep But every night they whisper We are hungry, now we eat They bite while you’re sleeping Drink deep while you dream Little jaws in the darkness Tearing holes in your peace You can scream in the morning But the night is theirs to keep ’Cause the bedbugs are feeding While you’re sleeping You can burn the sheets You can bleach the floor But they’ll crawl right back Through the cracks in the door They know your scent They know your skin And they’ll wait all day Just to feast again They bite while you’re sleeping Drink deep while you dream You can pray for the sunrise But it’s never what it seems You can run from the darkness But the darkness always sees ’Cause the bedbugs are feeding While you’re sleeping
