The TheryDragon: a.k.a Bob

[spoken word, with as little music as possible] Across the scorching plains of Texas, where the sun beats mercilessly upon the earth, there lives a remarkable creature. The TheryDragon. Also known, rather confusingly, as Bob. Or Bobs. For the TheryDragon is not merely one individual. No. She is many. Metal Bob... Vampire Bob... Angry Bob... There is a Bob for every occasion... Should one not exist, the TheryDragon simply creates another... And another. Scientists have abandoned attempts to count them, accepting that the Bobs are legion. And that, frankly, is probably for the best. Beneath this proliferation lies a creature of surprising gentleness. The TheryDragon is creative and kind. Though initially shy, she warms quickly to others. And once a bond is established, it is rarely broken. For she possesses a most unusual survival instinct. Loyalty. Once accepted, you are family. And should anyone threaten that family... Well. Angry Bob may be called upon. We shall say no more on the matter. The TheryDragon communicates through blunt statements, delivered simply, directly, and occasionally devastatingly... with an equal dose of silliness... Then come the terrible dad jokes. This has had unexpected consequences. One particular creature, the NeonAstronaut, has begun referring to the TheryDragon as... Dad. The Rig group held a formal meeting and voted her into the position. The motion passed. The reasons remain unclear. Does it make sense? No. Does the NeonAstronaut care? Also no. And so, a new Dad was born. Or, more accurately, appointed. Yet the TheryDragon faces challenges, including a condition known locally as... Diabeetus. She confronts it with determination, humour, and a commitment to raising awareness. She is also a devoted messenger of Wilford Brimley, whose teachings of liberty and medical fusion inspire her followers. His message is simple. His moustache is magnificent. His legacy is eternal. And... What?... Disregard that section on Wilford Brimley... It Appears Neon got ahold of my notes... Anyway... Where was I? Ah... yes... As for her feeding and sleeping habits, very little is known. Researchers suspect she doesn't sleep enough. Her diet is equally mysterious, consisting of almost anything edible. Perhaps Dietary Bob could investigate. Although, given the current population, we must exercise caution. One thing, however, is certain. The TheryDragon makes music. While others rely upon screens and shortcuts, she takes pen to paper, writing her songs by hand. Every line considered. Every thought given a place to live. Her music explores heartache, storms, and the darkest corners of horror... And, naturally, Bob. Always Bob. But beneath the monsters and misery lies something more significant. She writes for herself, to understand her world and give shape to her feelings. But she also writes for others. To comfort those who are hurting. To remind someone, somewhere, that they are not alone. For the TheryDragon does not simply make music. She cares. And perhaps that is the most remarkable thing about her. Not the Bobs. Not the dragons. Not even the inexplicable appointment to Dad. It is that, in a world that can be cruel, she creates things intended to make it kinder. A song for the brokenhearted. A melody for the lonely. A monster for those who need a fright. And a Bob for absolutely everyone. The TheryDragon is creative, kind, fiercely loyal, occasionally sleep-deprived, and medically complicated. She may yet threaten the ecological balance of Texas with her ever-growing Bob population. But we would not have her any other way. For she reminds us that beauty exists in unexpected places, that kindness can survive the harshest environments, and that sometimes the greatest heroes are those who keep showing up, pen in hand, creating something meaningful for someone else. The TheryDragon. A hero to Bobs everywhere. A beautiful part of this extraordinary world we call home. And as for how many Bobs one ecosystem can sustain? The answer, regrettably... Appears to be more.
