[Intro: ocean waves] [MARÉ] Hello? [Silence] Can you hear me now? [Coconut knock] Excellent signal. [Verse 1] Lost my phone somewhere beside the sea Checked my bag twice, checked under the seat Asked everybody, nobody had a clue Then a little brown coconut rolled into view Held it to my ear just to make my friends laugh Said, “Operator, put my baby on the line fast” Everybody smiled till a voice came through Saying, “Why are you calling? I’m standing behind you” [MARÉ] Wait—what? [Pre-Chorus] No screen No case Three little holes On its face No bars No tone But somehow I’ve got A coconut phone [Chorus] Coconut phone Call me by the water Coconut phone Signal getting stronger Ring-ring, hello Tell me where you wanna go Coconut phone Best service on the coast Coconut phone Never needs a charger Coconut phone Works a little harder Tap-tap, speak slow Everybody wants to know Who keeps calling on my coconut phone? [Post-Chorus] Coco-coco Pick it up Coco-coco What’s up? Coco-coco Leave a tone Call me on my coconut phone [Verse 2] Called the taxi, coconut said, “Press one” Called my mother, she asked what I’d done Called the weather, got a forecast for rain Then the coconut connected me directly to Spain Someone said, “Hola,” so I answered, “¿Qué tal?” They said, “Wrong coconut,” then ended the call My friends formed a line with their coconuts too Now the whole beach has a tropical phone booth [Pre-Chorus] No apps No fees Just shake it twice For overseas No glass No chrome Everybody needs A coconut phone [Chorus] Coconut phone Call me by the water Coconut phone Signal getting stronger Ring-ring, hello Tell me where you wanna go Coconut phone Best service on the coast Coconut phone Never needs a charger Coconut phone Works a little harder Tap-tap, speak slow Everybody wants to know Who keeps calling on my coconut phone? [Percussion Break: coconut shells become the beat] [Automated Coconut Voice] You have one new message. [MARÉ] Play message. [Voice] We found your real phone. [MARÉ] Delete message. [Beat Drop] [Rhythmic Verse] Knock-knock left Knock-knock right Coconut network open all night Shake it once Shake it twice Add a little rhythm For a better device No password No update No cracked screen No monthly rate If the signal disappears Take one sip and wait [Bridge: smooth falsetto] Maybe technology Got too complicated Maybe every little call Doesn’t need to be updated You can keep your newest model With the camera and the glow I’ve got one that fell from a tree And it works wherever I go [Final Chorus] Coconut phone Call me by the water Coconut phone Whole beach getting louder Ring-ring, hello Tell me where you wanna go Coconut phone Best service on the coast Coconut phone Never needs a charger Coconut phone Now the signal’s farther Tap-tap, speak slow Everybody wants to know Who keeps calling on my coconut phone?
