The Climate Song The beach I love is sliding away. The dunes retreat some every day. I treasure this whole damn coast, but it all will soon be toast. Working now a little harder to dream. World a’coming ain’t what it seemed. Living things gotta work to agree, find their place in this new ecology. For them life’s gonna be hard on a landscape too often charred. The water’s getting too damn hot. Catfish now all I catch a lot. The ocean is full of jellyfish, not the things for which we wish. It’s time to find a new place, someplace my family will be safe. Somewhere on a cool green hill where we’ll enjoy this old world still. Oh, dear ones, I love you so! I fear there is no place to go. It’s gonna be bad everywhere, here and there, far and near. Working now a little harder to dream. World a’coming ain’t what it seemed.
