Velvet black, the world's asleep Watching secrets the stars all keep I send a whisper on the breeze Carried through the silent trees I trace the constellations, dim and vast Searching for a light that's meant to last Then a flicker catches my eye A silver tear across the sky The beat starts building in my soul A feeling I can't control Faster, brighter, coming through In that moment, I see you You're a shooting star, a burning bright Tearing through the darkest night A flash of gold, a streak of fire Lifting my spirit, taking me higher You're not gone, you're flying free A shooting star, right back to me The silence used to feel so cold A story that was left untold But now I look up and I smile And wait here for a little while 'Cause I know you'll race across the view To let me know you made it through That familiar flicker in my eye Another silver tear goes by The beat is racing in my soul You're the light that makes me whole Faster, brighter, coming through In this moment, I'm with you! You're a shooting star, a burning bright Tearing through the darkest night A flash of gold, a streak of fire Lifting my spirit, taking me higher You're not gone, you're flying free A shooting star, right back to me Across the void, a cosmic sea You send your energy to me A beautiful and fleeting art A signal to my beating heart A signal to my beating heart! You're a shooting star, a burning bright! Tearing through the darkest night! A flash of gold, a streak of fire! Lifting my spirit, taking me higher! You're not gone, you're flying free! A shooting star, right back to me! Right back to me... My shooting star... My guiding light...
