Lay down your work, the day is done The sun is sinking low Set aside your cares till morning And leave your burden by the door There's a place beside the fire Come share the feast tonight Join hands with those around you And let the music fill the night There’s a time to work A time to rest A time to lay things down And there’s a time to laugh a while With friends all gathered round So dance while the fiddle plays Laugh while the fire burns bright Leave your cares and stay awhile And dance with me tonight There’ll be time enough for trouble There’ll be work enough for days But tonight, my love, come take my hand And dance while the fiddle plays Some days are warm and easy Some days bring wind and rain Some years the fields give plenty Some years bring bitter pain If empty hands should find you Or good years come to pass Thank the Lord for what He gives And let your heart be glad There’s a time to weep A time to laugh A time for joy and pain And there’s a time to thank the Lord For sunshine after rain So dance while the fiddle plays Laugh while the fire burns bright Leave your cares and stay awhile And dance with me tonight There’ll be time enough for trouble There’ll be work enough for days But tonight, my love, come take my hand And dance while the fiddle plays Dance while the fiddle plays Laugh while the fire burns bright Leave your cares and stay awhile And dance with me tonight There’ll be time enough for trouble There’ll be work enough for days But tonight, my love, come take my hand And dance while the fiddle plays Yes, tonight, my love, come take my hand And dance while the fiddle plays
