CUT! Intro (Spoken) Director: “Quiet on set!” Producer: “Rolling…” Director: “Action!” (Music begins.) Verse 1 The hero missed his cue again, The villain’s hugging all his friends. The extras all forgot their lines, Now everybody’s improvising. The weather wasn’t in the plan, Who fired half the camera clan? The soundtrack’s playing out of key… Who rewrote Scene Number Three? Pre-Chorus The producer shakes his head… The director counts to ten… Chorus CUT! This scene is going nowhere! Change the dialogue, Move the chair! Wrong costume, Wrong disguise, Didn’t that character already die? Roll it back, Take twenty-three, Who keeps changing history? Everybody’s got a script… Nobody agrees! CUT! Verse 2 The king’s become the village fool, The pirate’s teaching Sunday school. The dragon’s joined the ballet cast, The future somehow changed the past. The editor says, “Trust the plan.” The writer says, “That’s not my hand.” The actors all have different views… Who’s deciding whose is true? Pre-Chorus The producer rubs his eyes… The director starts to grin… Chorus CUT! This scene is going nowhere! Change the dialogue, Move the chair! Wrong timeline, Wrong surprise, Someone’s changing all the lines! Roll it back, Take ninety-two, Who’s still waiting for their cue? Everybody’s got a script… Nobody agrees! CUT! Bridge (Music strips right back.) Producer walks slowly onto the set… Looks around… Everyone’s talking… Nobody’s listening… Everyone’s directing… Nobody’s acting… (Long pause.) Producer (spoken): “Enough…” “You’ve all had your opinions…” “You’ve all rewritten the dialogue…” “But this…” (pause) “…is your cue.” Final Chorus CUT! No more rearranging! Stop rewriting every page! Play your part, Speak your line, You don’t have to know the whole design. Lights are on, The cameras roll, Every heart can play a role. Everybody has a part… That’s how stories start. CUT! Outro (Spoken) Producer: “…And…” (smiles) “Action.”
