WAR SCROLL — COLUMN IX THE SEVEN BATTLE LINES [Driving electric guitars, powerful bass, live drums, marching snares and military brass] [Verse 1 — The Trumpets of Battle] Their hands begin to strike the enemy, The fallen in the battle line. The people cease their sounding, But the priests continue giving signs. The trumpets of the slain keep sounding, To direct the battle's course, Until the enemy is beaten, And turns its back to flee the force. The priests continue with the alarm, The appointed signals of the fight. When the opposing ranks are broken, The trumpets call the host to unite. [Verse 2 — The Seven Lines] From the foremost battle formations, The infantry comes forward again. Six divisions join the fighters, One division already stands. Seven battle lines assembled, Twenty-eight thousand fighting men! Six thousand horsemen riding, The ordered force goes forth again! [Chorus — Massive brass, heavy guitars and male choir] SEVEN BATTLE LINES! TWENTY-EIGHT THOUSAND MEN! SIX THOUSAND HORSEMEN! THE TRUMPETS SOUND AGAIN! THE BATTLE OF ELOHIM! THE PURSUIT OF THE ENEMY! SEVEN BATTLE LINES! ACCORDING TO THE RULE OF WAR! [Verse 3 — The Pursuit] All these forces go in pursuit, To bring the enemy to destruction. The priests shall blow the trumpets of pursuit, And divide the host against them. The cavalry presses at the flanks, Turning back the fleeing foe. They follow through the battle, Until the enemy is overthrown. The trumpets of pursuit are sounding, The warriors follow their command. The judgment written in the battle rule, Upon the opposing army stands. [Verse 4 — The Holiness of the Priests] When the fallen lie upon the field, The priests shall sound from far away. They shall not enter among the slain, Nor walk where their unclean blood remains. For holy is their priestly office, Their anointing must remain undefiled. The blood of the boastful nations, Shall not profane their sacred oil. [Chorus — Full progressive rock and military brass] THE PRIESTS SHALL SOUND FROM FAR AWAY! THE PRIESTS SHALL KEEP THEIR HOLINESS! THE TRUMPETS OF PURSUIT SHALL SOUND! THE CAVALRY PRESSES AT THE FLANKS! SEVEN BATTLE LINES! TWENTY-EIGHT THOUSAND MEN! SIX THOUSAND HORSEMEN! THE BATTLE OF ELOHIM! [Verse 5 — The Changing Formations] Now the rule of changing formations, The divisions rearrange. Their positions against the enemy, The order of the battle lines shall change. A curved formation and the towers, The flanks extend upon each side. The formations move forward slowly, To make the enemy lose heart. The columns and the wings move outward, From either side of the battle line. The tower formations take their places, According to the written design. [Verse 6 — The Shielded Towers] The shields of the tower warriors, Three cubits each in length. Their lances measure eight full cubits, Held within the ordered ranks. One hundred shields along each side, Of the tower going forth. Three hundred shields around the front, Across its three defended sides. Three gates belong to every tower, One to the right, one to the left, And one upon the forward side, According to the battle plan. [Bridge — Marching snare rolls, deep bass and rising brass] Upon the shields of tower warriors, Four names are written there. MICHAEL! GABRIEL! SARIEL! RAPHAEL! Michael and Gabriel on the right, Sariel and Raphael on the left. The four names mark the shields, In the order of the battle ranks. [Verse 7 — The Remaining Formation] The towers and the wings are ordered, The shields and lances measured. The divisions stand according, To the formations of the war. An ambush is mentioned in the fragments, Against an opposing battle line. The ancient writing breaks thereafter, Its missing orders cannot be supplied. [Final Chorus — Thunderous guitars, brass and commanding harmonies] SEVEN BATTLE LINES! TWENTY-EIGHT THOUSAND MEN! SIX THOUSAND HORSEMEN! THE TRUMPETS SOUND AGAIN! THREE HUNDRED SHIELDS! THREE GATES UPON THE TOWER! MICHAEL! GABRIEL! SARIEL! RAPHAEL! THE BATTLE OF ELOHIM! THE PRIESTS SHALL KEEP THEIR HOLINESS! THE PURSUIT OF THE ENEMY! ACCORDING TO THE RULE OF WAR! [Massive electric guitars and military brass in unison, final marching drum cadence]
