[Intro] [Spoken] You didn't come for the noise. You came for the silence before it. Welcome to the state of trance. [Verse 1] The concrete shakes at midnight The air is thick with sound You lose the week by Thursday On Saturday, you're found No battery, no signal No calendar, no date Just thirty thousand strangers Who showed up to the state [Pre-Chorus] When forty thousand faces All turn without a word When the whole room draws one breath Just before it's heard [Build 1] [False Drop] This is the state... (silence) ...of trance. [Verse 2] No job title out here No inbox left unread We paid to be forgotten For forty hours instead What we hold in all week Through the traffic and the gray The kick drum says it for us In ways words never say [Pre-Chorus] When forty thousand faces All turn without a word When the whole room draws one breath Just before it's heard [Build 2] [Drop] We are the state of trance Alive and unafraid Not who we were at daybreak Not looking to be saved We are the state of trance Alive and unafraid Not who we were at daybreak Not looking to be saved [Breakdown] Remember who you were Before this life got loud That person is still here Just buried in the crowd [Final Build] [Drop 2] We are the state of trance Alive and unafraid Not who we were at daybreak Not looking to be saved We are the frequency That cuts through steel and stone This sound is not from speakers It's something of our own [Outro] The state of trance Not something you attend It starts the moment you arrive It doesn't have to end
