The Realm Above Calls
We've not seen the moon in many years, but we remember her, and the light she left behind. Dark Maiden, Lady Silverhair, your name is how we count the days, whispered low in stone, where Lolth cannot hear. They told us darkness was our nature. They told us cruelty was our blood. But you danced in silver and you called us back not to what we were, but to what we could be. Dance with us, Dark Dancer, Lady of the moonlit blade, even here, even now, where no light comes. We hold your song the way the stone holds cold, Moon Singers and Dark Huntresses, until the Realm Above calls. In the caverns your faithful hides and prays, an Argent Maid hums what her elder taught before. The High Hunt waits, the Run is yet to come, but first we practice, blade in hand, in the dark. Lolth counts her web and Lolth counts her prey But she does not count for us, not anymore. We are few and hunted, but we are free. Dance with us, Dark Dancer, Lady of the moonlit blade, even here and now, where no light comes. We are the Bright Edge of Darkness, Ghost of the Moonstruck Night, Living Swords, unsheathed, until the Realm Above calls. One day we will climb into the open air. One day we will stand beneath the real moon. We will dance the Sword Dance the way you taught us, face upturned and silvered hair, unafraid of the warm orb into the sky. Until then, we practice here, in the dark. Because somewhere above us, the moon is already there. Dark Maiden, We remember. Lady of the Dance, We are coming. The dance continues, The blade is ready, We are not afraid.
