[Verse] Up on the mountain cold and high There lived a Grinch who'd make us cry With a heart so small it hid away He planned to steal our joy that day [Verse 2] He slunk through shadows dark and mean To Whoville where the lights did gleam He took their stockings every toy His aim to crush each Who-girl boy [Chorus] But Christmas came without the cheer No tinsel tree or feast so dear The Whos they sang with hearts anew Proving love's the joy we hold true [Bridge] The Grinch he paused with puzzled frown Their happiness did not bow down He learned that day what’s plain to see That Christmas means more than a spree [Verse 3] So now his heart it grew ten fold No longer grumpy grim and cold He gave the toys right back to Whos And joined their feast with big Who-news [Chorus] But Christmas came without the cheer No tinsel tree or feast so dear The Whos they sang with hearts anew Proving love's the joy we hold true
