Independent Christmas

[Verse] The snow falls thick on prairie land Our voices rise A hopeful band In Alberta's heart We made our stand No more Ottawa's distant call We built this home We built it all A Christmas bright where none feel small [Chorus] Independent Christmas Oh what a cheer Freedom wrapped in the joy of the year Bells are ringing The future's clear Alberta shines We’re pioneers [Verse 2] Golden wheat and frosty pines Our oil Our gas Our steady mines No more taking what's rightfully mine Children laughing Hearts aglow In this “province” Watch us grow Our dreams as pure as fresh-fallen snow [Prechorus] Candles lit The fire's warm Together we weathered every storm
