[Intro] [Fast electronic beat building up] Ready... set... ACTION! Do you feel the power? Do you feel the beat? If it’s something you DO, Get up off your seat! [Verse 1] A noun is a thing, but a verb is the move, It’s the way that you shake, it’s the way that you groove! You can Run, you can Jump, you can Spin around, You can Slide on the floor, you can Stomp on the ground! If you’re moving your body, you’re using a verb, It’s the "Doing Word"—have you heard? [Chorus] Verb! Verb! It’s what you do! Clap your hands and Kick your shoe! Sing a song or Read a book, Wiggle your nose and take a Look! Without a verb, you’re standing still, But with a verb, you always will! [Verse 2] But wait! Some verbs are a little bit quiet, They don't make a noise, they don't cause a riot. You can Think, you can Dream, you can Wonder why, You can Wish on a star in the midnight sky. Even if you’re sitting in a chair, If you’re Breathing or Feeling, a verb is there! [Bridge] [Music drops to just a drum beat] I Run (That’s present!) I Ran (That’s past!) I Will Run (The future's coming fast!) Every action has a time and a place, Verbs are the winners of the sentence race! [Chorus] Verb! Verb! It’s what you do! Clap your hands and Kick your shoe! Sing a song or Read a book, Wiggle your nose and take a Look! Without a verb, you’re standing still, But with a verb, you always will! [Outro] Jump! (Verb!) Dance! (Verb!) Sleep... (That’s a verb too!) See ya later, Action Heroes! [Fade out with a final beat] [End]
