[Intro · Female & Male] Something’s changed along our street, Look up where the branches meet. Find the yellow shining through, Let’s discover something new! [Verse 1 · Female] All through summer, leaves of green Catch the sunlight’s energy. Spread out wide on every limb, Helping trees grow strong again. [Verse 2 · Male] As the days grow short and cool, Autumn breezes whisper through. Chlorophyll begins to fade, Less green colour in the shade. [Pre-Chorus · Female] Yellow, orange come in view, Hidden by the green we knew. [Pre-Chorus · Male] Some leaves make new pigments, too, Adding reds and purple hues. [Chorus · Female & Male] Yellow, yellow, orange glow, Find the red leaves as we go! On one tree, look up and see Different colours side by side. Take a photo, write the date, See what’s changed from yesterday. Look at every leaf we find, Watch as autumn changes with time! [Verse 3 · Female] Pick a fallen maple leaf, Like a hand with fingers spread. Trace its veins with careful eyes, Look along its pointed edges. [Verse 4 · Male] Leave the stalk out when you measure, Find the blade’s full length and width. Use one method for each leaf, Then compare which one is bigger. [Pre-Chorus · Female] Some leaves turn a golden yellow, Others show a brilliant red. [Pre-Chorus · Male] Species, sunlight, weather, too, Help shape every autumn hue. [Chorus · Female & Male] Yellow, yellow, orange glow, Find the red leaves as we go! On one tree, look up and see Different colours side by side. Take a photo, write the date, See what’s changed from yesterday. Look at every leaf we find, Watch as autumn changes with time! [Bridge · Female] Find a golden tree nearby, Write the place and date beside. [Bridge · Male] Ask a friend who’s far away, “What do your leaves look like today?” [Bridge · Female & Male] Yellow here and green out there, Autumn changes everywhere. One place cannot tell it all, Look around and compare the fall! [Breakdown · Female] Paired winged fruits begin to spin, Twirling down upon the wind. [Breakdown · Male] Fallen leaves beneath our feet Crunch and rustle to the beat. [Final Chorus · Female & Male] Yellow, yellow, orange glow, Find the red leaves as we go! Stop a moment on our way, See the little leaves today. Take a photo, write the date, Come back soon and see what’s changed. Leaf by leaf, we’ll learn together, Keep a record of autumn’s colours! [Outro · Female & Male] Something’s changed along our street, Look up where the branches meet. Through the maple branches high, Find new colours against the sky!
