Since You’re Not Around (Highway Hum)

Well darling I guess I better go Cause I'm getting another call. I can see from the caller ID It's my old friend alcohol. She wants me to come to the Liquor store to pick her up. She never seems to have a ride, But tonight I guess she's in luck. So I'll drive down Memory Lane Til I find a liquor store. I'll buy some redemption And I'll take it home. I'll take a drink and Pray my demons drown. This is how I'm getting by Since you're not around. I traded my old friend alcohol For a blushing bride, But I never could leave my One true friend behind. No matter how hard I try, I always answer her calls. Lord, she loves to build me up Just to see me fall. So I'll drive down Memory Lane Til I find a liquor store. I'll buy some redemption And I'll take it home. I'll take a drink and Pray my demons drown. This is how I'm getting by Since you're not around. Bridge If I spend my days lovin' you Then I'm barely getting by, But there's a place on Memory Lane Where regret and hope collide. Yeah, there's a place on Memory Lane Where I'd rather waste my time. So I'll drive down Memory Lane Til I find a liquor store. I'll buy some redemption And I'll take it home. I'll take a drink and Pray my demons drown. This is how I'm getting by Since you're not around. This is how I'm getting by Since you're not around. This is how I'm getting by Since you're not around.
