Verse 1 I used to think I found my way to You, like I figured it out, like I finally knew how to reach that place, how to break on through, like it all came down to me. But the more I reflect, the more I see You were already movin’ before I believed, You were already callin’, already reachin’ for me, I just finally opened my eyes. It wasn’t random, it wasn’t chance, it wasn’t luck that I took that stance, it was You all along with a steady hand, guidin’ me closer step by step. Even when I was lost in my own direction, even when I was far from connection, You didn’t pull away, didn’t show rejection, You stayed right there and waited. That’s the part that humbles me the most, I wasn’t searchin’ You like I thought I was, You were callin’ me before I even knew what it meant to walk with You. And I don’t take that lightly now, I don’t brush that truth aside, I stand in awe of what You’ve done and how You’ve been here the whole time. I didn’t earn this, I didn’t qualify, I didn’t meet some standard to catch Your eye, You chose me before I tried, and that changes everything inside. Through God the Father, I know I’m known, through Jesus my Savior, I’m brought back home, through the Spirit that moves, I’m never alone, You chose me first—and I’m Yours alone. Verse 2 I remember the days I went my own way, didn’t think about You, didn’t stop to pray, just movin’ through life day by day, thinkin’ I had it all under control. But even then You were right there still, not forceful, not breakin’ my will, just patiently waitin’, quietly real, drawin’ me closer without me knowin’. And when it finally clicked in my mind, when I realized You’d been there the whole time, it broke somethin’ open deep inside, like I couldn’t ignore it anymore. That wasn’t somethin’ I created myself, that wasn’t somethin’ I built or held, that was You reachin’ into my world and showin’ me what was real. Through Jesus Christ, I saw what it cost, what it took just to bring me back from lost, not a small thing, not somethin’ I gloss, but love that went all the way through. That changes how I see every day, that changes the way I think and pray, that changes the path I choose to take, ‘cause I know what You did for me. Through the Spirit I feel that pull again, when I drift too far, when I lose my sense, He brings me back, reminds me again that I’m not here by accident. And God the Father, You set that plan, You knew my name before I began, and I stand right here understandin’ that— You chose me before I chose You.
