I STILL WANNA TALK [Intro — low, deep spoken] Yeah… I heard you. You don’t wanna talk. I respect that. For real. But— I still wanna talk. [Beat drops] Here we go. [Hook] I still wanna talk, I still wanna talk Yeah, I know you don’t wanna talk I still wanna talk, I still wanna talk But I ain’t gonna chase you down Take your space, catch your breath Close that door, I ain’t crossing that yet I still wanna talk, I still wanna talk I know you need your peace I ain’t breaking down your boundaries I just hope you don’t forget me You can say “not today” I can hear what you’re saying I ain’t forcing that conversation But when you’re ready— I still wanna talk. [Verse 1 — rhythmic rap] Okay, look— I talk in bullet points, that’s how I was built Give you facts, give you dates, tell you exactly what happened A happened, B happened, C was the reason Thought I gave you the answer— Apparently I’m missing the meaning. You said, “That’s not what I’m talking about.” I said, “I know, but technically—” Yeah. That’s when I should’ve stopped. You said you needed somebody to listen I heard “problem” and immediately started fixing You gave me a feeling, I gave you a solution Then wondered why you looked at me like, “What the hell was that supposed to do?” I wasn’t trying to dismiss you I was trying to make it make sense But sometimes you don’t need an answer You need somebody saying— “I get it.” Damn. That’s harder than it sounds. [Pre-Hook — melodic] I know I talk when I’m nervous I explain when I’m scared I connect every little detail Like somebody asked me to prepare I don’t always catch the part That lives underneath the words I’m listening for the sentence When you’re telling me how it hurts So if you say you need some distance I won’t turn that into war I can stand outside the boundary Without trying to kick down the door [Hook] I still wanna talk, I still wanna talk Yeah, I know you don’t wanna talk I still wanna talk, I still wanna talk But I ain’t gonna chase you down Take your space, catch your breath Close that door, I ain’t crossing that yet I still wanna talk, I still wanna talk I know you need your peace I ain’t breaking down your boundaries I just hope you don’t forget me You can say “not today” I can hear what you’re saying I ain’t forcing that conversation But when you’re ready— I still wanna talk. [Verse 2 — beat switch, heavier bass] Look— You built a gate? Cool. I see it. Big lock. Boundary sign. Got it. I’m not climbing that thing. I learned. But don’t act like I don’t know where the key is. I ain’t here to break your peace I ain’t here to prove I’m right I ain’t trying to win a conversation At two in the morning under kitchen lights I just don’t want silence To become the final word Because sometimes “leave me alone” Sounds like “you don’t matter” When that’s not what you meant at all And yeah, that’s my problem too I fill the silence with assumptions Build a whole courtroom Out of three words and punctuation You said “okay.” I heard seventeen different things. That’s on me. I know. I’m learning. [Bridge — stripped beat, rapid-fire] Okay. Quick recap. One—I wasn’t trying to argue. Two—I was explaining. Three—there is a difference. Four—that’s probably not helping. Five—when I said that thing, I meant— Wait. Six—that’s not even the point. Seven—you said this after I said that But before that, you had said— Eight—hold on, there’s context. Nine—the context has context. Ten—I know you said you don’t wanna talk. Eleven—I’m almost done. Twelve—there was one more thing. Thirteen—actually, technically— Fourteen— Okay. I’m hearing it now. I’m doing it again. I’m literally proving your point. [Beat cuts] … Yeah. That’s probably why you don’t wanna talk. I’m working on that. [Final Hook — beat explodes] I still wanna talk, I still wanna talk But I finally understand Talking ain’t just throwing words And hoping somebody understands I still wanna talk, I still wanna talk But I won’t chase you through that door I’ll respect the space you asked for And I’ll be here when you’re ready for more You can guard your peace You can lock that gate I ain’t gonna force my way I can learn to wait And if you ever turn that key And decide to let me in— I’ll listen. Before I answer. Before I fix it. Before I explain. I’ll listen. I still wanna talk. [Outro — deep spoken] I heard you. You don’t wanna talk right now. Okay. I’ll give you that. I’m not climbing your gate. I’m not breaking your lock. I’m just saying… I happen to have the key. Whenever you’re ready— I’m here. [Mic drop] … Actually— I had one more point. [ONE FINAL BASS HIT]
