Psalm 19

[verse 1] The heavens proclaim the glory of God, The skies reveal the work of His hands. Day after day they pour out speech, Night after night their knowledge expands. [verse 2] They speak without words or audible voice— No sound is heard, no spoken phrase— Yet their line goes out through all the earth, Their silent song through endless days. [verse 3] He pitched a tent for the sun on high, Which comes like a bridegroom in wedding delight, Like a champion glad to run his race— It rises with joy and blazes with light. [verse 4] From one end of heaven it makes its way, And circles to where the day is done. Nothing is hidden from its heat— All feel the fire of the sun. [verse 5] The law of the LORD is perfect and whole, Restoring and reviving the soul. The LORD’s own witness stands firm and true, Making the simple wise and whole. [verse 6] The precepts of God are right and just, They gladden the heart with radiant grace. His command is pure, enlightening the eyes, It brings clear vision and steady pace. [verse 7] The fear of the LORD is clean and bright, Enduring forever, steady and clear. His judgments are true, all righteous and good, More precious than gold, more pure than fear. [verse 8] They’re sweeter than honey fresh from the comb, Richer than treasure stored up in home. By them Your servant is warned and blessed— In keeping them, there’s great reward and rest. [verse 9] But who can see his hidden wrongs? Cleanse me, O LORD, from secret sins. Hold me back from willful ways— Let no rebellion rule within. [verse 10] Then I shall stand before You whole, Cleansed from guilt and free in soul. Let all my words, each inward thought, Be pleasing in Your holy sight— O LORD, my rock, my saving light.
