# THE NEON GHOST *An Epic Campfire Ghost Story Song* **[INTRO — CRACKLING CAMPFIRE, OWLS CALLING, NIGHT WIND]** **KID (spoken):** Thanks, Uncle Mike, for taking me camping! Hey, Uncle Mike… can you tell me a ghost story? **UNCLE MIKE (spoken, mysteriously):** Well, pull your sleeping bag a little closer, kid. 'Cause what I'm about to tell you Happened right here… a long, long time ago. **[VERSE 1 — WARM STORYTELLING VOCALS]** Before these tents and trails were here, Before the campfires lit the night, A hundred years ago, they say, These woods held secrets out of sight. A man once lived among these trees, He knew the paths, the streams, the land, And not too far beyond the woods, A raging river cut the sand. Those rapids never took a rest, They thundered wild against the stone, And even when the moon was high, That river sang a song alone. **[VERSE 2 — THE RESCUE]** One terrible day, a stray little pup Was caught where rushing waters ran, The little dog was scared and lost, And there was only one brave man. He saw that puppy fighting hard, He couldn't stand to watch it drown, So into those wild waters jumped, While roaring waves came crashing down. But on the bank, a hungry bear Came lumbering through the pine, The man fought hard to reach the shore, With barely any strength left inside. He grabbed that pup and turned around, The bear was closing in behind, Back through the river, dog in hand, He risked it all one more time! **[PRE-CHORUS — MUSIC BUILDS]** Down, down, down the river they flew, The current pulled them farther away, A waterfall six hundred feet below, And nowhere left to escape! He grabbed a rock, held on so tight, But the rapids tore him free, Then something glowing through the dark Lit up the sky for all to see! **[CHORUS — HUGE, MYSTERIOUS, CATCHY]** I'm the **NEON GHOST**, with my blue light glow! When something ain't right, I'm the one you should know! Through the darkest night, let my bright light shine, I'll show you the wrong, help you make it right! I'm the **NEON GHOST**, hear the river call! I might be a mystery, but I stand for all! You may never see me when the morning comes, But I'll be your friend when the night rolls on! **[VERSE 3 — THE WATERFALL MIRACLE]** The waterfall was getting close, The thunder shook the midnight air, The man held tight to that little dog, With nothing left but hope and prayer. Then BLUE LIGHT flashed across the sky, So bright it turned the night to day! The falling waters stopped in time, And gently carried them away. That glowing blue light led them home, To a quiet bank beyond the foam, The man held the puppy close and cried, "Who are you, friend, who saved our lives?" **[THE NEON GHOST — DEEP, ECHOING VOICE]** "I'm the Neon Ghost from what's undone, I shine my light till the wrong is gone. I seek the truth where shadows grow, And show the way that folks should go." **[VERSE 4 — THE OFFER]** The man looked up at that glowing blue, "I owe my life and this pup to you! Tell me your name, tell me what you need, I'll do my best, just tell me, please!" The Neon Ghost gave a gentle smile, His blue light dancing all the while. "You don't need riches, gold, or fame, Just remember this and sing my name. Whenever you're near, let the whole world hear, The song of the ghost who brings the light near!" **[CHORUS — BIGGER, WITH CHILDREN'S BACKING VOCALS]** **LEAD:** I'm the NEON GHOST, with my blue light glow! **CHILDREN:** Blue light glow! Blue light glow! **LEAD:** When something ain't right, I'm the one you should know! **CHILDREN:** Make it right! Make it right! **ALL:** I'm the **NEON GHOST**, let my blue light shine! I'll help you find the truth when the stars align! You may never see me, but remember this song, When you see that blue light, help make right the wrong! **[BRIDGE — QUIET, MAGICAL, HAUNTING]** If you see a blue light flicker Where the woods grow dark and deep, Don't be frightened by the shadows, Don't be scared when branches creep. Maybe someone's lost their way, Maybe someone's being wronged, Maybe there's a heart that needs A little help to carry on. You don't have to be a hero, You don't need
