Verse 1- The world kept spinning outside my door, But I found another worth living for. A plastic shell and a glowing screen, Built a place where I could finally dream. Eight-bit rivers, pixel skies, Heroes never questioned why. Coins would sing, hearts would glow, Every level felt like home. My father sat beside my chair, Patient voice floating through the air. Reading every line, every quest, every clue, Turning tiny words into worlds I knew. Then one day he smiled and simply said, "The next one's yours..." and bowed his head. The game stood still, I wanted more... So I learned to read just to reach the next door. Pre-Chorus- Every sentence was another key, Unlocking who I'd grow to be. Chorus- Unreality... became my reality. Pixels painted who I'd grow to be. From eight-bit hearts to HD dreams, Nothing's ever quite the way it seems. Power-ups for broken days, Extra lives when hope decays. People laugh, "It's just a game..." But every save file knows my name. Verse 2 Then fate logged in one quiet night, A hunting horn beneath moonlight. Monster Hunter crossed our paths, Two strangers writing the same map. Sharpen dual blades around the fire, Every quest- "So Tasty!" a little higher. One hunt became forever's thread, A thousand conversations left unsaid. Over ten long years have flown, Still she's my favorite player two. Guild cards faded, consoles changed, But love stayed patched through every update. They say distance breaks apart... We crafted armor for the heart. For everyone who asks us how... Those who play together stay together now. Chorus- Unreality... became my reality. Every loading screen led back to me. Controller warm within our hands, Building futures no one understands. Respawning every time we'd fall, Never truly lost at all. Life kept throwing boss fights free... She was always healing me. Bridge- (8-Bit Breakdown) Bloop... beep... ba-doop... Insert cartridge...... Click...... Press Start..... Continue? Hell YES!!! Lives? INFINITE! The soundtrack crackles through my soul, Square-wave rhythms make me whole. Mario jumps, Link swings true, Legend of Zelda was our wedding theme too. Pac-Man taught me WAKA WAKA- not to quit, Tetris showed where pieces fit. Every console, every friend... None of it was "just pretend." Final Verse- Now every day I punch the clock, Steel and noise around the block. Hours crawl like loading bars, Counting minutes, counting stars. Because I know when work is through, Another lobby waits for me and you. My nephews laughing through their mics, Friends I've known through countless nights. Some are states and oceans away, Yet we're together every day. No matter where our bodies stand, We're side by side in digital lands. One more raid before the dawn. One more memory before it's gone. Chorus- Unreality... is my reality. It taught a frightened child to read. It gave me love I never chased. It filled the empty, quiet space. It gave me brothers not by blood, Late-night laughter through the mud. Every quest, every victory, Every loss became history. If someday my screen goes dark, And silence swallows every spark... Don't cry for where my body lay— Just press Continue... I'll be waiting in another game. Outro- My father gave me words. Games gave them meaning. Love gave them a future. Maybe it was never unreality... Maybe...just maybe........ This was my reality all along.....
